Miss C was bugging and bugging and bugging Little J to play princesses and dragons the other day. I mean, it was incessant pestering. But little J was busy playing with his own toys and showed little interest in playing with her. After about the 100th time of asking him, he finally turned to her and said:

Sweetie, what did I said? I said, not right now.

Ha! I don't know what I love more. The fact that he called her sweetie, or the fact that he used said in the wrong tense. Both are just too stinkin cute!

Fridays

Fridays are a special day for me. Miss C has preschool Monday-Thursday and Little J has school Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Therefore, I get some one on one time with my girl on Friday's. It's nice because I generally don't get to spend much time with just her alone. Usually our Friday's consist of doing something fun and then heading out to lunch. Here are a couple of me and my girl on this Friday at our favorite place to do lunch :)

Snow days!

Two snow days in a row! The kids had fun playing out in the snow over the past few days.
One of their favorite things to do was throw huge ice/snow blocks down the hill to shatter it. No nice powdery snow for us!

It's fun to play at the YMCA

We decided to sign Little J up for basketball this winter since he seems to love the game so much. The only place that had a 3 year old program was the YMCA. In all honesty, it was a little bit of a waste of time. The coaches are all volunteer (and for that I'm grateful) but trying to wrangle 8 three year olds was a bit of a show down. I think he touched the ball maybe 4 times in the 40 minute lesson.

And trying to play a game was hysterical. Don't they look like they are all paying attention?!

2 down and 18 to go

The tooth fairy is going to be busy again tonight! The bottom right has been hanging on by a thread for the past couple of days and it finally fell out (at least that is what we think happened) by itself this morning. Miss C has been "trying" to pull it for the past two days without any luck so we were just going to leave it be until it got a little bit looser and then try again. Well, this morning as we were on our way to the Discovery Place, I hear "I can't find my tooth! Mom, my tooth is gone!" in the back seat. My heart kind of sank a little bit, I'm not going to lie. I was afraid of her losing it and us not being able to find it. She's totally ok with that since she believes the tooth fairy will find it and take it away, but I'll admit I'm a little heartbroken that it's lost. I *think* she might have swallowed it when she ate a banana this morning because we've turned the car and the bottom level of the house upside down looking for it. I'm almost afraid to vacuum for awhile just in case it might turn up (who am I kidding, I don't usually vacuum anyway!). I'm *fairly* certain it was in her mouth when she woke up this morning....sometime between 7:15 and 9:30 it fell out and got lost. Booooo! Maybe we'll still find it, who knows. I keep picking up every speck of dirt I see hoping it might be the tooth.

But for now, we're going on the fact that the tooth fairy will find it and take it away with her. I do have it on good authority that she probably won't be as generous as she was last time....the tooth fairy just can't afford $5 for every tooth! Miss C already told me she didn't want quarters, so I guess $1 will just have to do.

In the car right after she discovered it was missing. Thank goodness I had the camera with me!

In the Discovery place painting a picture for the tooth fairy (which of course we left there...double boo!)
And finally at home. And of course in the fairy costume. We've been wearing it for 2 days now!

Playing

One of the other things that Little J and I do while Miss C is in school is to play at the Discovery Place Kids. It just opened a few months ago and I bought a family membership for the year hoping to have something to do. He loves it! They have this cool race car that I think he spends about 95% of his time at.
They also have a little "village" there with a vet, grocery store, restaurant, airport, construction site, etc. It's right up his alley. I've taken Miss C there and all she wants to do is craft. I think it's a little young for her, but it's perfect for Little J. I'm not sure I'll do the membership again next year, but we are having fun this year.

Ringing my purchases up at the grocery store
After "rest time" we headed to a friends to play outside for a little bit since the weather was mild.

Random ongoings

Remember the iphone lenses from yesterday's post? Well, not only did I get a wide angle, I also got a macro. What better way to test it out than waiting to drop C off for preschool. I was struggling to find something to take a macro shot of (which means getting really, really close to something)

Not so bad....
Must get closer....
Whoa! Aren't you glad I got one of these for Christmas?!

Ok, now for some cuteness. The kids have been dressing up in their halloween costumes lately. Both of them have never really been into dress up, but every once in awhile they like to use their imaginations in this way. Aren't they cute?!

Since I have about an hour to kill after I pick Little J up from preschool (and before I have to pick Miss C up) twice a week, Little J and I have been hitting the local library to kill some time. I was kind of hoping for that gold mom star award and fill this time with some reading since Little J isn't the reader like Miss C is and sometimes I struggle to get that quality reading time in. Well, it was going well until he discovered the computers. Now all he wants to do is play the games on them. I guess it's not so bad....they are educational. At least he is enjoying the library! It's sad to think that he will probably not use a public library all that much as he goes to school (if hardly ever). So much is on the internet, that it feels weird even stepping in a library for the first time in years. Hopefully I can keep the library visits up and keep that love of reading, I mean playing games, going!

new iphone lenses

So I got these neat little "lenses" for the iphone camera and was playing around today with them. One of them was a wide angle lens (which I don't have for my regular camera, but maybe I need to put one on my wish list!). It's amazing what these iphone cameras can do....

And some random others from the park the other day
