And my kids aren't even teenagers yet. I'm prepared for the fact that I'm going to be dumb according to them in a few years (because we all know that kids know everything). But I wasn't prepared to be this way in the eyes of my 3 1/2 year old. Yesterday while we were driving to get Little J's haircut, he all of a sudden blurted out, "Mom, sometimes you don't know anything." Well, that may be true. But to my 3 1/2 year old, I'm still supposed to be the all knowing center of his universe.
After a little prodding, I was told that I didn't know anything because I was supposed to go get his haircut the day before. But instead of doing that, he told me I decided to go to a shoe store instead (true) and then another store (true) and then the grocery store (true). So there was no time for his haircut. According to him, that was not the right sequence of events (and thus the delay of a haircut (read: lollipop)). So I guess sometimes I just don't know anything.
